Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child was born into an ethnically diverse family from South London. Her mother is English and her father is Nigerian. She grew in the south London council estate and at the age of fourteen, she attended The Brit School. She earned her BA in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. During her time at the school, she was a part-time actor in numerous stage productions, including The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her career as an actor in the movie Storm Damage. In the years since, she's made guest appearances in Teachers, Doctors, Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. In the following year she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. The ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was also a part of the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams and Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes at The CW, and was eventually cancelled. The actress was selected in February 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe was a regular in the drama series of Revenge on ABC for two seasons. The show was announced in May 2013 that she would be leaving the series following a guest episode in the initial series of the 3rd. In the television series Salem, she played Tituba from 2014 until the year 2016. Madekwe and her partner who has been with her for a long time, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. Together, they worked in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. Ashley Leggat was born to Roy and Patty and her other siblings - Brett, Todd and Bram as well as Rob. Ashley grew in arenas or baseball parks because her brothers, who were all athletic, played hockey and baseball and basketball in spring and summer. Ashley did not have the ability to actually walk. She danced. So when she was 2 and a 1/2 when she was a little older, she began to take part in Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered her love for dancing at the age of. Ashley continued to compete throughout high school with top divisions like tap, Jazz, Ballet and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop and many more. Top soloists at important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
